John W. and Louise Seier National Wildlife RefugeJohn W. & Louise Seier National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) is 2,400 acres in size and is located 25 miles south of Bassett along Highway 183 in north-central Nebraska. The Refuge was established in 1999 to preserve, restore, and enhance the ecological diversity and abundance of migratory and resident wildlife. The Refuge lies among the Sandhills of Nebraska, which is the largest remaining tract of mid- and tall-grass prairie in North America.
