Situated within the George Washington National Forest, recreation facilities are managed by the US Forest Service. Hunting opportunities are provided National Forest lands that are managed by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries.

From Covington, go North on US 220 to VA 687, and follow the project signs to dam site.
