Fort Clatsop National Memorial is a very busy place now that the bicentennial is in full swing. Due to increased visitation, how visitors visit the park differs throughout the year. Public Transportation - During the summer visitors are encouraged to leave their cars at their lodging facilities or designated parking lots throughout the region and hop on the Explorer Shuttle to visit Fort Clatsop. Most motels and campgrounds will be serviced by the Shuttle.
