Art Museum of Greater LafayetteFounded in 1911 as the Lafayette Art Association by former Rookwood potter, Laura Ann Fry, the collection of the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette focuses on 19th and 20th century American art, especially that of Indiana. The collection contains works by pioneer artists such as George Winter, members of the Richmond Group such as John Elwood Bundy and Frank Girardin, Hoosier Group artists such as T.C. Steele and Otto Stark, and members of the Brown County Art Colony such as Will Vawter, Carl Graf, Georges La Chance, and Edward K. Williams. American artists such as Wayman Adams, Frederick Milton Grant, Henry Ossawa Tanner, Frederick Judd Waugh, and George Ames Aldrich are represented. The Museum has special collections of the Rookwood pottery of Laura Ann Fry and prints by Latin-American artists such as Guillermo Meza, Jose Clemente Orozco, and David Alfaro Siqueros. www.hobogrill.org |
